New Work Coming

Last night I almost finished a painting that has been in process for far too long.  I just need to find some brass clock type parts to finish it and then I will post it.  It's called Freedom.  I'm still trying to figure out how to photograph my work well bc I like to use high gloss varnish on these paintings, and there always seems to be a glare. Ack!

Bought a couple of canvases.  So...that means I will be putting in some hours to get some more work up and running.

Saving Bottlecaps from glass bottles for a future piece.  Bottlecaps remind me of the IGA store my grandmother and uncle worked at when I was a little girl in Smalltown, Missouri.  I was a city kid who was lucky enough to summer vacation in a wee little town in the midwest.  My grandmother was a cashier in the store, and my uncle was the butcher.  Grandma T has gone on to heaven, and my uncle is battling cancer.  Cancer is a thief, and I hate it.

So many great memories in that IGA store in that wee little town of my kid days...

I wish you could all have had those days.  So free...joyfilled...and full of my favorite cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles and people who had known my parents forever and over...all happening on lots of sunny days.  I will say that it's still curious to me as to why one of my boy cousins would want to eat ketchup on his potato chips...tainted chips! :-)  Here's to good memories in Liberal, Missouri!
